This Spinning Applications Intensive focuses on how to apply turns and spins when dancing on our own, without a partner.

Turns/spins are not only a tool for creating shapes and styles of rotation during partner-work, they are also an opportunity to demonstrate the broad range of speed, dynamic of feeling, and rhythmical possibilities we have available to us in all of the dance.

The course begins with our signature spinning warmup, followed by a detailed breakdown of various turns and spins. During this section, we will work on the structure and proper execution for each one separately. Finally, we will incorporate these turns into an open-work pattern, giving us a practical example for training and applying our spinning skills in both a musical and effective way.
